    Ladies Doing Stuff Podcast

    Ladies Doing Stuff Podcast

    by

    Since Feb 4, 2017 00:00 UTC

Aamber and Charlie understand that adulting as millennial black women in Los Angeles is not easy. These best friends started Ladies Doing Stuff Podcast so that women can know they are not alone in their desire for perfection, or even just for survival. After college graduation, the ladies simply picked up their high school friendship right where they left off; but they found that their adult lives were not that simple at all. Job losses, new marriages, and keeping friendships are just a few things that they learned to navigate along the way. All of this while living in Los Angeles, a city with not-so-many “angels” as it turns out. Aamber and Charlie created Ladies Doing Stuff Podcast as a safe space to share hilarious experiences, contrasting opinions, and to create a proudly imperfect community for women of color. Synesthesiologie

    Synesthesiologie

    by

    Since Aug 13, 2019 17:59 UTC

A mindfulness podcast designed specifically for the traditionally marginalized. If you can’t see it, you can’t be it. Reframe your mind to realign with your purpose. This meditation focuses on limiting self-beliefs and how they can completely immobilize us if we’re not careful. Whatever your religion or creed, we cannot deny the power of the human mind. It has the power to create bridges or walls for us. It has the ability to make things impossible or effortless. It can make us fearless and unstoppable, or completely immobilized and powerless. It can be as wild and unpredictable as mercury, or as serene and calm as the surface of still water. It is our best friend and most vengeful enemy. And yet we don’t need to fight against it. We only need to acknowledge it, and return over and over again to what we’re trying to focus on and cultivate. You see, the mind can be trained. This is why meditation is called a “practice”. We come back each day to exercise and guide the mind so it can begin working on our behalf. So we’re not constantly at it’s mercy as it relentlessly switches from topic to topic and hones in our doubts, insecurities, and regrets. If we follow our mind as it spirals downwards, we encourage it to continue returning to these self-defeating thoughts. Where the attention goes, energy flows. If you are constantly thinking about how you will never be good enough, honestly, you never will. You’ve already told yourself your truth. Your mind will always stop you from reaching your destiny if you continue to let it believe whatever it wishes. This practice helps us acknowledge the limitations we impose on ourselves and helps us to let them go forever. Releasing the hold these negative beliefs have on us, we begin to build a positive reality of our own design. Till soon, Synesthésie “Whatever we believe about ourselves and our ability comes true for us.” —Susan L. Taylor

    High, Good People

    High, Good People

    by

    Since Oct 24, 2019 17:52 UTC

High, Good People is a potcast that explores the historical, social and cultural relationships between people of color and cannabis in the new age of legalization. The show is hosted and produced by Tiara Darnell, a freelance journalist and multimedia producer, Oregon’s Budtender of the Year 2017, and a finalist for Spotify’s inaugural Sound Up Bootcamp for emerging women of color podcasters.

HGP blends interview and narrative style to give voice to the stories of the communities most disproportionately impacted by the legacy of the War on Drugs. Each episode is edited to “activation time” length, about twenty to thirty minutes, or roughly how long it takes to feel “high” after consuming cannabis.

Lean back, listen up, and if you want to, light up.
