    Authors Over 50

    by

    Since Mar 7, 2022 17:51 UTC

Authors Over 50’s weekly podcast celebrates writers and their journeys to publication. Writing after 50 is a whole story on its own. So, let’s skip to life’s sweetest third and talk with authors about their journey from pen to publish. Welcome. I’m Julia Daily, your host, and I invite you to listen to interviews with writers who’ve achieved their goal of publishing a book just later in life. We’ve seen award lists for Under 30 or Under 40, but I’ve yet to see lists for those who’ve achieved a significant milestone of their own—launching a new career and publishing their first book after the age of 50. We will hear about these authors’ inspirations, struggles, strategies, and the smell of that first book. These writers’ journeys inspire me because I’m one of them.

    Out of Office

    Out of Office

    by

    Since Apr 28, 2020 12:14 UTC

All the best chats happen out of the office.

In this podcast, Pugpig co-founder Jonny Kaldor joins interesting people in publishing for ambling walks through the streets of London, New York and beyond in order to try and find out what makes them tick. We cover everything from how they started out, what they love and hate about media and the many forces that are fundamentally changing the industry landscape right under out feet.

What will the future of publishing look like? God knows, but we’ll talk about it anyway and we’ll have fun while we do it…

Big thanks to Matt Prevett, Luke Croydon and Danny Monk for helping produce the Out of Office theme tune!

    What Editors Want

    What Editors Want

    by

    Since Jul 4, 2019 15:28 UTC

What Editors Want is a new podcast in which I interview a different editor each week from the world of publishing. It’s aimed at readers who want to hear the behind the scenes story of how their favourite books get made, and aspiring authors who want to know how to get published.

I’ve spoken to everyone from the biggest names in the industry to independent publishers taking a dynamic and innovative approach to making books. Along the way I’ve met the editors behind Nobel and Booker Prize winning authors (and practically every other literary prize), ground-breaking non-fiction (from The Panama Papers to Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race), with everything from kid’s books to cookbooks in between.

My dream is that this podcast will make the world of books more approachable and inclusive for the authors and publishing professionals of tomorrow by hearing about the career paths of industry leading editors, and how they choose their books.

Philip Connor Finn is an editor at award-winning publisher Unbound. He is the winner of the Faber & Faber Scholarship to UCL and the Cuirt Festival’s New Writing Prize. He writes for publications including Boundless, Caught by the River and The Times Literary Supplement.
