In This Labyrinth: The Phantom of the Opera In Erik’s Times and Ours

    by

    Since Jun 12, 2018 22:00 UTC

This podcast draws on the world’s most popular musical, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom Of The Opera, as well as on the experience of Phanship having been a Phan myself for three odd decades now, to explore social justice and intersectionality. That said, although a lot of my exploration and analysis comes from the Lloyd Webber stage-musical, I will talk about other versions of Phantom as well, along with some of the best of Phanfiction that I’ve yet come across! And whenever possible, I’ll be interviewing fellow Phans, Phan-authors/creators, etc, to give voice to different experiences than just my own. So enjoy, and long live Phantom as a force for a better world! PSA #SaveTheBrilliantOriginal #PhantomoftheOpera! As folks may know, the London and Broadway flagship productions have been closed due to #COVID19 (read more about it on the podcast blog). So now, we need to make sure that, when they reopen, Hal Prince’s, Gillian Lynn’s and Maria Bjornson’s original vision is preserved! Everyone Thinks is Queer Except You and Me

    by

    Since Nov 10, 2022 22:00 UTC

This Podcast is the result of ten years of arts criticism in the legendary -South American blog loveartnotpeople.org that, since 2012, shocked and changed the perception of art and, more specifically, of their cultural elites and their exclusionary practices. But now, I want to elevate blogging to artistic status and also to refer to my reality in the UK and its critical present. Intellectual, artists and academics will pass by this space only to reinforce our commitment to freedom of speech at a time identity politics is weaponised to censor and silence. Entirely in English, it will take decolonial and queer methodologies to their logic extremes..

    Since Mar 3, 2021 16:49 UTC

Author and journalist Shon Faye talks with LGBTQ+ trailblazers who have something important, interesting or enlightening to say about what it means to be queer in the world today. Through these conversations, Call Me Mother aims to deepen our understanding of queer experiences through the life stories of the elders who have lived through it before us – and show that all of us, queer or not, belong to a much broader history.

It’s been almost a year since we were “on the air.” Having one podcast is one thing, but canceling said podcast and starting a new one is another thing entirely. In this episode we launch our new brand and dip our toes in the water of talking about how much life can change in less than a year.

    BedPost Confessions

    BedPost Confessions

    by

    Since Jan 9, 2011 19:55 UTC

Sex: (almost) everybody does it and (almost) nobody talks about it—except at BedPost Confessions, a live storytelling show based in Austin, Texas. Whether the featured performers are funny, informative, political, or completely personal, the anonymous confessions from the audience are the stars of every show.

Selected from our live shows, each podcast features one storyteller bookended with anonymous confessions from the audience that are read (and often commented upon) during the evening. All BedPost Storytelling Productions are made accessible to deaf audience members by the fantastic interpreters from SOULumination. Though the interpreters are there to serve the deaf, they enthrall the entire audience with their beautiful expressions of American Sign Language. If you hear a roar of laughter and don’t understand why the interpreter may have stolen the show for a minute.

Because we lost our show home due COVID, our live shows have been canceled. Please stay in touch with us on Instagram and Facebookwhere we will continue to post anonymous confessions.
