    12 Minute Halacha

    12 Minute Halacha

    by

    Since May 27, 2019 12:00 UTC

We all try to dedicate time for learning Torah. Many people attend Daf Yomi, have a chavrusa, etc. Yet, most people find it difficult to learn Halacha in a consistent and clear way. We either spend too much time on one subject or try to breeze through a summary of all the laws in a few minutes. Neither of these approaches work. The concept of 12 Minute Halacha Daily (Monday through Friday) is to spend one hour a week learning Halacha from the sources all the way through the contemporary poskim and applications. This can be listened to while driving, sitting down with the sefer, or even while taking a leisurely walk. The purpose of the Shiur is to learn Halacha together without getting bogged down with many details or fancy lomdus. This way one can go through many Halachos with a deep appreciation of the sources, the rules, and see why we do what we do in our everyday lives. That is why i chose the Chayei Adam as a springboard. This podcast isn’t intended to replace the need for a Rav in one’s life. This is simply Limud Hatorah together. My hope is that we discuss some of these things by our Shabbos table and show our family that although we need to spend significant time at work, our excitement and passion is for Limud Hatorah, Avoidas hashem and Halacha. Please reach out with questions, suggestions or complaints. 12minutehalacha @gmail.com This podcast is powered for free by Torahcasts. Daily Holy Story by Rabbi Eli Ben Haim

Daily Holy Story by Rabbi Eli Ben Haim

    Since May 28, 2019 15:08 UTC

If you are enjoying this holy podcast, please consider sponsoring for a loved one or making a tax deductible donation by going to DailyHolyStory.com/DonateMy Dear Listeners,One of the most powerful tools that teaches Jewish values & principles is a story. My late father of blessed memory, Chacham Baruch Ben Haim , was very famous for using stories & parables in his teachings. He would often quote the Maggid Midubna in his famous parables on the weekly Parasha. It is well known that Rav Nachman of Breslov the Ben Ish Chai would relate their teachings through stories. In the last 4 decades, I have followed this tradition in my Torah deliveries. It is my hope & prayer, that with the new project of Daily Holy Story, launched by my dear friend Eddie Levy, that the lessons of these stories will reach the entire Jewish world, and serve as an elevation for the holy soul of my dear fatherBaruch Refael Ben Miriam, amen.Have a Wonderful Day,Rabbi Eli Ben Chaim See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information. HaShem’s 7 Commandments for all Mankind

HaShem’s 7 Commandments for all Mankind

    by

    Since Apr 29, 2017 18:19 UTC

HaShem’s 7 Commandments for all Mankind Rabbi Zvi Aviner takes you step by step, up the ladder of Noah’s Seven Commandments, which is the moral fabric of civilization. The classes are on IDOLATRY, ADULTERY, BLOODSHED, THEFT, INJUSTICE, BLASPEHMY and MERCY (the Prohibition to eat BLOOD and more. The stories and concepts are drawn from thousands-years old Jewish literature, like the Midrash, Talmud, commentators and Kabbalah. More importantly, the material is anchored in Jewish customs, prayers and liturgy; some dated to the Holy Temple of Jerusalem. Here you’ll discover the origin of ideas that have shaped our world, like the coming Reign of Mercy, the Heavenly Kingdom and the Eternal Sabbath. Whether you’re a Christian, a Muslim or a Jew, you’ll find these classes illuminating and inspiring. Noah is the father of all Mankind. Hence his teaching is the roots of all faiths. Noah, by the very meaning of his Hebrew name, is a pleasant and accommodative teacher. His wife’s name, Naama, means the same. Learn about both of them, about their falling in love, and about their fascinating families and treacherous times. You’ll find that nothing is new under the Sun, and that we are still facing a similar moral discourse.
