Nowadays there are so many sequels, it’s hard to keep track. Every week I find a sequel to watch and talk about it. Nobody wants to hear about the original again. My podcast is an opportunity to hear about those films less talked about.

    Good For A Girl

    by

    Since Jan 27, 2021 11:55 UTC

Join Courtney LaPlante, vocalist of Spiritbox, for her latest project – Good For A Girl. This podcast is an inside look at the realities and challenges of being a woman in the music industry, especially the metal scene – which has been male-dominated for a long time and still is today.

Through conversations with Musicians, Radio DJs, Record Executives, and more Courtney explores how their personal experiences of gender inequality influenced and shaped them as they navigated their way along difficult career paths. Because as a woman working in metal, nothing comes easy.

Each episode gives behind-the-scenes insight on how the music industry operates and what life is really like for working musicians. There’s also lots of advice for other women who are struggling to carve out their own path in traditionally male-domainated spaces. With plenty of stories and laughs along the way, Good For A Girl represents a defiant middle finger to the patriarchy.

So join Courtney as she uncovers why each one of her guests are good, for a girl.

    Anarchitecture

    Anarchitecture

    by

    Since Mar 6, 2016 17:00 UTC

An architect and an engineer discuss how the State influences development of the Built Environment, and consider alternative, non-aggressive means for resolving conflict and promoting cooperation in the development of the built environment. Tim and Joe are twin brothers who have a combined three decades of experience delivering local and international construction projects. Tim is a registered architect based in Boston who has designed and managed many projects throughout New England and New York. Joe is an engineer based in Adelaide, South Australia, with multidisciplinary experience including mechanical, electrical, automation, and IT. By applying ideas of anarcho libertarianism to topics including land use planning, zoning, cities, urban design, utilities, infrastructure, transportation, architecture, and design, Anarchitecture hopes to demonstrate that anarchism is conceivable, possibly achievable, and ultimately desirable.

    Where’s the Lemonade?

    by

    Since Feb 20, 2019 16:00 UTC

They say when life gives you lemons you should make lemonade. Making lemonade is not always easy or possible. For us, we found ourselves single in our 40’s with kids at home and starting life over again. Luckily we found each other, online no doubt. When we began blending families, schedules, traditions, and laundry, we discovered lots of lemons. Our podcast is a reflection on how we get through the hard times and enjoy the good times on our new journey together, all with ten kids in tow. Sometimes when life gives you lemons, you make lemon squares. Lemonade might come later.

Maybe you just imagined what it would be like. Based on her memoir, Girl To City follows singer-songwriter Amy Rigby’s progression from Elton John fan in the Pittsburgh suburbs to late 70’s Manhattan art student; from punk show habitué to fledgling musician to cult artist who caused a sensation with her album Diary Of A Mod Housewife. Each Wednesday, Amy will read a chapter and throw in some music.
