    Now Hear This

    by

    Since Sep 29, 2019 07:00 UTC

Now this is happening. Paul Kaminski (Yesterday & Today Podcast and The Third Men Podcast) and Ryan Brady (Take It Away Podcast) host your new favorite podcast. What’s it all about? Simple and easy. We trade our favorite records and talk about one album per podcast for about an hour. We each picked six albums for season one’s twelve episodes. In every episode, imagine one guy is the “expert” and the other guy is the rookie. We swap roles throughout the season. We walk through the history of the albums, run through the track lists, and attempt to turn each other – and YOU, the listener – on to new music. Mostly, we listen and laugh. You may too. Please join us in conversation, discover something new, and now hear this. Please donate here.

Peace Of Mind with Bhi Bhiman

    by

    Since Nov 15, 2018 17:50 UTC

In a nod to the protest albums of the 1960s and 70s, Bhi Bhiman’s Peace of Mind finds inspiration in the chaos that is modern American life. So much so that he had to release the album as a podcast and dig deeper on everything from immigration to religion, racism to Russia with experts, activists and artists like author Dave Eggers, religious scholar Reza Aslan, attorney & advocate Rabia Chaudry, LaDoris Cordell, and more. Part politics, part Behind the Music, all fascinating, Peace of Mind is an album and a podcast for our time. In the final episode of Peace of Mind, Bhi shares a very personal story about how suicide has touched his life in recent years.

    Ulises Caloz podcast

    Ulises Caloz podcast

    by

    Since Aug 16, 2007 03:13 UTC

Ulises Caloz’s self-produced debut album, “9 years” in the making, presents us with 12 original pop/rock tracks filled with powerful lyrics and instantly appealing melodies. Featuring some of Miami’s finest musical talents, this album elevates the familiar sounds of today’s mainstream latin music to a new level. In songs like “Que Se Sentira” (What does it feel) a beatleish styled ballad produced alongside well re-known latin producer and artist *MonteRosa*, you will undoubtely connect with the nostalgic behind many of Ulises Caloz’s songs. “Te Estoy Rogando ” (I Am Begging You), an uptempo track that dweels on the desperation for forgiveness of a man’s human imperfections which has cost him the love of his life. With his independent release of “9 years”, Ulises celebrates the latin pop/rock music that has influenced him since his early years growing up in his natal Cali, Colombia and pays tribute to all those who with hard-work and perseverence are able to bring to an audience the magic of their craft. [itunes pic]
Song for peace and forgiveness in Colombia and the world by singer songwriter Ulises Caloz, the name of the song is Violeta, inspired in the worlds of the american writer Mark Twain: Forgiveness is the fragance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.

Structural Integrity: Materials Testing – for iPod/iPhone

Structural Integrity: Materials Testing – for iPod/iPhone

    by

    Since May 12, 2009 19:24 UTC

How is safety built into the design of new structures? What sort of tests are used to ascertain the safety of proposed designs? Structural integrity, the study of the safe design and assessment of materials and structures under load, has become crucial in engineering design. Concepts within stress analysis have wide applicability, as there are very few manufactured components and products that do not experience any loading during their life. The tracks on this album demonstrate a selection of specialised tests designed to tell us about the behaviour of materials under certain conditions. They also show how failure assessment can be used to obtain information as to why a component or structure failed, to better inform future designs. This material forms part of the course T357, Structural integrity: designing against failure.

    Gary P Hayes

    Gary P Hayes

    by

    Since Mar 28, 2010 12:53 UTC

GaryPHayes’s music is a rare hybrid of melodic progressive trance, celtic & world music and cinematic electronica. His versatility lies in his being able to exhibit the sensitivity in combining music of different cultures required for a wide range of film genre and being able to utilise both full orchestral scoring through arrangement and production to cutting edge electronic music realisation and sound design. Gary became interested in music at an early age and was playing guitar and clarinet by the age of 9. He was already composing piano pieces by the age 11 and was playing guitars, keyboards, saxophones, bass, music tech & writing in several signed bands through to early twenties. He gained a BA in music & physics at Manchester University. After University Gary founded Audio Images his own music and multimedia production company as one of the first in the UK to use computers and sample equipment and began creating commercial music for TV, Radio and Advertising. He also co-produced and worked with renowned Manchester bands during this period. He composed many library albums and had works regularly played on BBC TV and National Radio, scores for documentaries and drama, including stage work. Gary also began teaching Music and Multimedia Production at Central Manchester College for two years before moving to the London based Guildhall School and finally lecturing at the famous BRIT School for four years working with artists. At the BRIT school he mentored emerging young artists in the studio such as Imogen Heap & Lynden David Hall and developed new forms of interactive on and offline performance pieces. Gary also organised, performed and composed for contemporary music festivals in London in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Music. He picked up various world instruments (saz, komuz, tar etc) as well as developing an unexpected performance and improvisation passion for celtic and orchestral harps in his mid 20s. He then went to work at the BBC for eight years as a key new media Senior Development Producer but continued scoring and writing music for film, TV and interactive including several at the BBC . He has a continued interest in the participatory potential for music creation in a web 2.0 world.
