Welcome to Gailey Road Audio. Gailey Road is a place where “research meets theatre and theatre meets research”. Gailey Road Audio produces the podcast Gender. Sexuality. School. and has begun producing audio-plays. Our first audio-play Out at School (2021) was created from excerpts from interviews undertaken with 37 LGBTQ families about their experiences in Ontario schools between 2014 and 2020. Our second audio-play, The Love Booth and Other Plays (coming in 2023) is a set of seven short plays about queer and trans activism and care in the 1970s and early 1980s. At the ninth grade level, the Utah Core focuses on reading and writing experiences that are developmentally appropriate: vocabulary instruction that compares connotation with denotation and identifies word meanings using sentence structure (grammar), reading instruction that focuses on inference and the difference between interesting and important information in informational text, and character development and more complex figurative language in narrative and poetry. Writing focuses on comparing multiple ideas and perspectives to extend thinking through writing, and concentrates on persuasive writing. Skills in analytical evaluation and assessment of writing become more nuanced, and editing skills are specific and clearly delineated. Inquiry skills are focused on questioning as a research technique and evaluating sources of information. Introduction to the unit 6 analytical essay
