    Education Is Life Podcast

    Education Is Life Podcast

    by

    Since Apr 2, 2020 00:23 UTC

If you were to start from scratch and recreate schooling, what would you do? Only, it’s more than just the question of what you would do—it’s also why would you do it at all? If Dewey was right, then education isn’t preparation for life; education is life itself. Therefore, this idea is more than just about recreating school, it’s about recreating life. Welcome to the Education is Life podcast, where we have honest discussions about the state of education: where it is, where it can be, and all of the stories in between. Each episode, the founder of Greenfields Academy, Rob Huge, will try his best not to vent about how broken schooling is today, but instead offer a glimpse of hope that there is a better way. One that honors the needs of our children and our world, rather than our entrenched interests and ties from the past that try to confine the way they think and learn. We want everyone to take time to re-evaluate the kind of teachings and life we are offering our children, and whether it lives up to our obligations as parents and educators. Greenfields Academy is a private micro-school based out of Chicago, IL, and a part of the Acton Academy network of schools. To learn more about the school and our 21st-century approach to education, please visit http://greenfieldsacademy.com.

    by

    Since Jan 29, 2020 10:00 UTC

Instructional coaches, does this sound familiar? How am I supposed to improve teaching I keep getting pulled to put out fires? How can I support resistant teachers when they’re not letting me in the door? I’m not even entirely sure what my role as a coach is supposed to be…and my principal doesn’t seem to get it, either. If you’re feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and isolated, you are not alone. Instructional coaches everywhere are feeling this same exact way. In this podcast, we have real conversations about all of this and more. Welcome to Buzzing with Ms. B: the Instructional Coaching Podcast where Chrissy Beltran brings you real talk and practical, easy to use ideas for instructional coaches and literacy coaches who are figuring out how to do the hard work of supporting teachers and growing students. Listen in on honest conversations about getting organized, managing your time, communicating with teachers and administration, and realistic approaches for coaching teachers on your campus. Coaching is hard, but you don’t have to do it alone. Get the encouragement, tips, and next steps you need to coach with confidence!

    The House of Grey

    The House of Grey

    by

    Since Aug 28, 2008 20:01 UTC

http://www.parsecawards.com/past-awards/2009-parsec-award-winners-finalists/14-year-old Monson Grey faces the same challenges that any freshman high school kid would. Difficult classes, weird teachers, food fights…girls. Except Monson Grey is not Monson Grey. At least, when he looks at himself in the mirror, the scarred face staring back is not someone he recognizes. Now he finds himself attending an extraordinary school, the recipient of an incredible scholarship, among ridiculously rich classmates, and with no memory of how he got there or what to expect. As bizarre events start to unfold around him, Monson wonders what secrets lay locked in his hidden past. Add all this to a mysterious silver stone, an Indiana-Jones-copycat professor, Merlin the wizard, and even Atlantis, and you’ll find yourself in a fantastic tale in which magic does exist and everything is never as it seems. Narrated by Chris Snelgrove

    Kid Power Radio

    by

    Since Apr 5, 2007 17:24 UTC

Listen to reviews of the latest kids tv shows, kids movies, kids books, websites and video games straight from the mouth of a kid. This show was created by a nine year old boy. He writes and performs it weekly.

The Peter Pan play was a fun experience full with adventure and excitement. The CGI was used very thoughtfully, as it was not over used, nor under used. The CGI, to me, added a feeling like you really were flying with Peter and Tinker Bell over London, or that you really are on a pirate ship. The play overall was very good, with never a dull moment. As soon as the play begins you can feel the excitement building up in the audience and in the little kids waiting for Peter Pan to come up and begin his adventure with the Darling children. Something else that I liked about it is that they don’t follow the Disney version of the story. They follow J.M. Barrie’s original tale of Peter Pan which means more surprises and more fun. So, Peter Pan is an amazing show that I would advise anyone to go and see. If you would like more information on the show or if you would like to purchase tickets, visit www.peter pantheshow.com
