    High School History Recap

    High School History Recap

    by

    Since Mar 20, 2020 12:00 UTC

The High School History Recap podcast was started by two passionate teachers from South Africa who realised the value of taking history teaching and learning beyond the confines of the textbook and classroom. Their recipe includes constructive conversations with learners and experts alike. William and Colin investigate topics covered in most history classrooms but also ask questions about how best to teach and learn these topics. They cover the “what to teach”, “how to teach”, “how we learn”, and “thinking tools” of history teaching and learning. Find them on any podcast player platform like Apple or Spotify. Let’s share the love for history. Find us on Twitter @WilliamHPalk or @C_duPlessis. Our email address is highschoolhistoryrecap@gmail.com.

Red People, Blue People: It’s Not So Black and White

    by

    Since Sep 1, 2022 08:29 UTC

Remember when we were consumed with teaching the skills that would be needed in the future? Well, what 21st-Century skill is more valuable than the ability to talk constructively about the chaotic, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous world we’re all trying to figure out and navigate daily? There’s so much we urgently need to talk about, mask mandates, transgender issues, race relations, growing incivility, threats to our democracy. Yet, there is so little we can safely discuss in mixed company. Join us as we travel the globe looking for people who can teach us how to discuss the things that matter most, in ways that don’t end with a black eye, a 911 call, or being unfollowed.
