Through interviews with musicians and scholars in the improvised and experimental music world, this show explores the idea that new ways of interacting musically are also new ways of interacting socially. In listening to what is unfamiliar can we better hear the voices of others? Does creative risk-taking in music give courage to progressive political expression? Can judicious spontaneity in performance model the timely wisdom needed in our social institutions? Does improvised music preface grassroots democratic deliberation? Produced and Hosted by Rachel Elliott, a PhD candidate in Philosophy, Sound It Out is a fun, easy-listening exploration and reflection on the present, past, and future of jazz, creative, and contemporary music, and all nature of sound experiment. Broadcast in Guelph, Ontario on CFRU 93.3FM on Tuesdays at 5pm. Produced with the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation. Art by Justin Karas.

For those who aim to be purpose driven in all areas of their life, but when it comes to their faith are secretly struggling. They have attempted to search the bible and come to find it irrelevant; a useless tool full of fictional stories. They very much want an authentic faith as a part of their life but can’t seem to reconcile all of the fake leadership and fit it into their world view. They have experimented with many forms of self help and personal development but deep down they know their personal goals will still leave them feeling empty. They desperately long to have some confidence in a God that will finally give them peace of mind. On this weekly show we will help the listener that is searching for answers realize that ultimately they are searching for something that only God can provide. Your hosts are Pastor and Biblical counselor Chad Wiles and Christian Entrepreneur Josh Miller. Together they will tackle popular cultural subjects by deconstructing them and viewing them though a Gospel Centered World View. Ultimately they will show that there is no divide between the secular and the sacred. If you are tired of spirituality without substance then tune in.

We build human organisations. We believe the future of organsations is human-centred, but the bottom line dictates that leaders can’t risk untried programmes with unclear benefits. These short, guided mindfulness meditations were first taught to NHS hospital staff as part of the Mindfulness-Based Organisational Education (MBOE), which is an evidence-based programme. It’s taught to organisations and communities to empower people to create a more human and sustainable world. These meditations offer a dual purpose: The ‘how’ and the ‘why’. They are a great place to start and our book, Social Mindfulness: A guided to mindfulness meditations from Mindfulness-Based Organisational Education, goes into greater depth. Social Mindfulness: A guided to mindfulness meditations from Mindfulness-Based Organisational Education is available from www.mindfulnessconnected.com/shop/social-mindfulness
