    Peelers And Sheep

    Peelers And Sheep

    by

    Since Jun 29, 2020 17:27 UTC

This is not a history podcast – this is a rebel story, rebelling against accepted wisdoms and prevailing views, overturning what we thought we knew and creating new understandings, delving beneath the surface appearance of things.

This is a podcast about peelers and sheep. Sheep representing agricultural production – the form of production most obviously involving an interface with ecology. But this is not just farming heritage. The peelers, or the police, representing the violence of the state undergirding relations of power, conflict, and exploitation.

Whether it’s health, career, relationships, finances or family. Life doesn’t always go as planned. But that doesn’t mean that in those unplanned moments, crises, challenges or downright devastations your dreams can’t come to fruition. Sometimes it’s the detours that take us to a destination we never could have dreamt of. Pete and Kim Vargas have seen their share of “plot twists”. They’ve been hit forwards, backwards and while it could have been easier to stay down and let their circumstances end the desires and dreams they had in their hearts they chose to continue. They chose to stand back up. Join Pete and Kim each week as they share stories of their own, as well as everyday people, talk about how their “plans” didn’t go so perfectly. However, through adversity, they came to discover their Not So Perfect Plan was indeed perfect for their story. Learn how to take life’s challenges, and start seeing them as an opportunity to grow, stay strong and become resilient.

    Life’s a Wreck, So Here’s a Podcast

    Life’s a Wreck, So Here’s a Podcast

    by

    Since Jul 5, 2019 22:00 UTC

Mental health isn’t just mental illness, it’s in everything we do. There are ups and downs, it’s beautiful and messy, and at the end of the day, life’s a wreck. Thing is, that wreck is what makes us ‘US’ and isn’t that worth celebrating? A layered and rich wreck of emotions, nuance and stories, all culminating in very human experiences. We believe that conversations surrounding mental health deserve to leave the tall shadow of stigma and have their moment in the limelight. Life’s a Wreck aims to be a museum of mental health, a parlour to the people, a place to celebrate all things mental, curating the stories of others and examining a world hidden behind stigma with a joyous curiosity and passion for storytelling. Join Kyle Moore around our proverbial campfire to share stories about the world we live in looked at through the lens of mental health. This is Life’s a Wreck.

Every one of them has a story to tell, whether it’s a love story, a war story, a comedy or a tragedy, a tale of an immigrant’s struggle or a heartfelt conversion story. The Church is a community of human beings with unique personal narratives and perspectives, and the more we understand and appreciate one another, the better unified our community can be.

    How I Made It Through

    How I Made It Through

    by

    Since Jan 18, 2022 12:00 UTC

It is often through pain and suffering that we learn our most profound lessons. It is often through courageously exploring the inner landscapes of our lives and seeking healing that we transform, because much like the immortal words of Robert Frost, “The best way out is always through.” How I Made It Through is offered as a survival guide of sorts; both as inspiration and encouragement to speak our truth, feel our feelings and share our unique and unifying stories “making it through” something challenging. Season Two and beyond goes even deeper though; we inquire into the spiritual significance of enduring and learning from hardship. We do so by interviewing those who have a lot to say about what it means to be more fully alive and connected to our soul’s contracts. You will hear stories from people who have had Near Death Experiences, Past Life and Life Between Life Regressions, as well as psychic mediums, mystics, energy healers and more. If you are either curious or even consumed with delving deeper into what happens when we die, and how we can become more fully alive, then this is the show for you.
