How well do we know the people beside us at liturgy? Every one of them has a story to tell, whether it’s a love story, a war story, a comedy or a tragedy, a tale of an immigrant’s struggle or a heartfelt conversion story. The Church is a community of human beings with unique personal narratives and perspectives, and the more we understand and appreciate one another, the better unified our community can be.

    The Second Half

    The Second Half

    by

    Since Jan 10, 2020 12:00 UTC

This podcast is about people’s stories. Stories of our struggles and the work it takes to overcome those struggles, of our failures and finding success, and ultimately of healing and love. My guests and I share stories of challenges and successes, especially in the second half of life. The second half means the second half of our lives and the unique issues we face during this period of time but it also means the pivotal decisions or circumstances that happen at any time in our lives that change and redefine who we are. I’m hoping that the stories that my guests share will help you feel less alone in your own struggles and will make us all feel more connected as a community. New episodes every week!

Thrivival 101: A Fresh Take on Self-Care for Female Mental Health Clinicians

Thrivival 101: A Fresh Take on Self-Care for Female Mental Health Clinicians

    by

    Since Jan 31, 2022 22:00 UTC

We are Dr. Melissa Tiessen and Dr. Karen Dyck of Intentional Therapist. As mental health clinicians we all know that self-care is important. We talk with our clients about it ALL.THE.TIME and yet, ironically, we often struggle with it ourselves! Even worse, we tend to do this in silence, because, who wants to let any of our colleagues know that we might be struggling with our own self-care? After all, aren’t we supposed to be the experts in this?!

Here’s the thing: There are unique factors (about our training, our work, and our gender socialization) that contribute to the very real and normal struggle that we, especially as female mental health clinicians, have when it comes to our own self-care. The good news is that together we can lessen the struggle but only if we’re willing to break the silence.

We hope that through our down-to-earth discussions with other like-minded female mental health clinicians you will find the courage to elevate your own self-care, and move from simply surviving to truly thriving. Because, in the end, taking care of ourselves is not only how we best take care of our clients, but it’s also how we create the kind of life from which we don’t need to escape. (We know, intriguing concept!)

    Endless Endeavor with Greg Anderson

    by

    Since Jun 25, 2020 19:37 UTC

What’s up guys, my name is Greg Anderson, and after spending a decade in the Special Operations/Para-Military community and 14 overseas deployments, I pursued a new career in Law Enforcement with the interest in putting the deployment lifestyle behind me. In light of so many events in 2020 regarding law enforcement I decided to speak up on the behalf of the profession and it ultimately cost me my job, but because of this I’ve taken my life in a new direction and one of my pursuits is launching this podcast! The Endless Endeavor Podcasts was created with the understanding that life is a continuous and arduous journey. I’ve learned that the only way I can grow and develop as a human is maintaining an understanding that there is always a lot to learn and preserve a curiosity across a wide spectrum of interests. Through this journey of life I have had the honor to walk amongst giants and look forward to bringing our listeners quality content on a variety of topics. We will be delving into military operations, jiu jitsu and martial arts, liberty and freedom, tactical proficiency, health and wellness, overcoming depression and PTSD, leadership and team dynamics, parenting, law enforcement and so much more.

    The Legacy of Ball

    The Legacy of Ball

    by

    Since Feb 26, 2021 22:00 UTC

Finally, after a decade-long journey, in December of Michael’s senior year of high school, when my fingers started pounding the keyboard, something magical happened. They could not stop. I wrote a chapter the first week, two chapters the second week, then three and then four. The stories, lessons and messages poured out of my memory and onto the pages of this memoire. The final thirty-five chapters were written in thirty-five days. I always said to my son that we are defined not by our behavior when things are great, when we won the game or when we made the team. We are defined by who we are and how we act when we are faced with our greatest challenges, when losing falls squarely on our shoulders and when we are rejected. In between the covers of this book, in between the laughs, he and anyone who reads about our time together, will understand how the Legacy of Ball shapes and defines each of us.

    Life’s a Wreck, So Here’s a Podcast

    Life’s a Wreck, So Here’s a Podcast

    by

    Since Jul 5, 2019 22:00 UTC

Mental health isn’t just mental illness, it’s in everything we do. There are ups and downs, it’s beautiful and messy, and at the end of the day, life’s a wreck. Thing is, that wreck is what makes us ‘US’ and isn’t that worth celebrating? A layered and rich wreck of emotions, nuance and stories, all culminating in very human experiences. We believe that conversations surrounding mental health deserve to leave the tall shadow of stigma and have their moment in the limelight. Life’s a Wreck aims to be a museum of mental health, a parlour to the people, a place to celebrate all things mental, curating the stories of others and examining a world hidden behind stigma with a joyous curiosity and passion for storytelling. Join Kyle Moore around our proverbial campfire to share stories about the world we live in looked at through the lens of mental health. This is Life’s a Wreck.

    How I Made It Through

    How I Made It Through

    by

    Since Jan 18, 2022 12:00 UTC

It is often through pain and suffering that we learn our most profound lessons. It is often through courageously exploring the inner landscapes of our lives and seeking healing that we transform, because much like the immortal words of Robert Frost, “The best way out is always through.” How I Made It Through is offered as a survival guide of sorts; both as inspiration and encouragement to speak our truth, feel our feelings and share our unique and unifying stories “making it through” something challenging. Season Two and beyond goes even deeper though; we inquire into the spiritual significance of enduring and learning from hardship. We do so by interviewing those who have a lot to say about what it means to be more fully alive and connected to our soul’s contracts. You will hear stories from people who have had Near Death Experiences, Past Life and Life Between Life Regressions, as well as psychic mediums, mystics, energy healers and more. If you are either curious or even consumed with delving deeper into what happens when we die, and how we can become more fully alive, then this is the show for you.
