Just Breathe: Parenting Your LGBTQ Teen

    by

    Since Oct 22, 2019 01:00 UTC

Do you have a child, teen, or young adult who is lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or any other beautiful sexual orientation or gender identity? Do you feel alone in your effort to support them on their journey or navigate your own? Heather Hester from Chrysalis Mama is here to transform the conversation around loving, raising, and empowering an LGBTQIA+ teenager as well as being a supportive ally to all LGBTQIA+ people. Since 2017, when her son embraced his sexual orientation as a young gay man, Heather and her family have felt every emotion, and have experienced dozens of situations ranging from heartwarming and humorous to terrifyingly life-threatening. She and her husband initially felt alone and overwhelmed, moving her to want to support others traveling a similar path. She discusses taboo topics and works to erase stigmas surrounding the coming out process and parenting an LGBTQIA+ teen. Heather’s shows are both interview and solo offering a wide range of fascinating guests as well as her own episodes where she shares wisdom, stories, and strategies. Sitting in the top 2% of all podcasts, Just Breathe is relatable, educational, and warm. Heather’s approach is based on four pillars – to Embrace, Educate, Empower, and Love – and most of all, to reinforce to all LGBTQ people, their families, and their allies that they are not alone!

The Price of Friendship: Summer Surprise

The Price of Friendship: Summer Surprise

    Since Jan 1, 2013 05:39 UTC

Chad is in love with Amy. He knows it now, but isn’t sure how to deal with it. It’s summer vacation before starting high school. Chad has recently returned from an inter-dimensional romp to rescue Amy and bring her back to the Prime Dimension, our world. After all they went through to survive their adventure, Chad can’t understand why Amy now is acting aloof and indifferent. Of all the things Chad expected from summer, his older brother, Mike, coming home without warning from his duty in Afghanistan was not one of them. The two brothers have a chance to compare experiences from their respective wars and help each other cope with the ‘baggage’ such trauma leaves. However, Mike’s sudden reappearance is only the first surprise of the summer. Others which follow are not so desirable and will affect Chad and his relationships with his brother and Amy for the rest of their lives.

    Shabam!

    Shabam!

    by

    Since Feb 22, 2016 17:00 UTC

The science podcast that’ll eat your brain. Shabam! is a new type of science show that blends fictional stories with real science. If you love science but hate those awkward scientist interviews that involve graphs and confusing metaphors, you’re in luck. First off, Shabam! is an audio program – so no graphs. And second, through the magic of sound effects and music, you’ll hear stories that reveal the awesomeness in the world around us – like cellphones and vaccinations. In season one, our main story is about three kids separated from their parents during a Zombie apocalypse. Over the course of 10 episodes we follow their quest to reunite with their families. But their experience leads us to another conclusion – that there’s a lot of science all around us that we take for granted. And finally, you may be wondering whether we’ve added silly songs and jokes to make up for the fact that we can’t show you graphs. Yes we have. Also, we only interview cool scientists who aren’t awkward, which means the whole family can enjoy it!
