    The Portal by Martin Green

    The Portal by Martin Green

    by

    Since Sep 22, 2020 10:35 UTC

Lose yourself in a story of obsession, 40 years of night life and 4,000 years of human connection. In The Portal Martin Green, Wils Wilson, and David Greig have woven together a tale of love, music, drugs and deceit.

Two obsessive recordists, and lovers torn apart by circumstance; Etteridge and Angela left us the most incredible collection of 20th century documentation ever made. From 1947 to 1988 they never met.

They recorded any and every aspect of London nightlife, from war-time dance-halls to the legendary M25 raves. But these recordings never saw the light of day until they were discovered in 2016.

Why did they keep these tapes secret? Because for 40 years these parted lovers had been leaving messages for each other in these recordings. What remains is a dark, dark story left for us to piece together.

    The Hamilcast: A Hamilton Podcast

    by

    Since Jan 31, 2016 01:11 UTC

In this podcast about all things Hamilton, host Gillian Pensavalle speaks with guests, and sometimes co-host/all time husband Michael Paul Smith, about the innerworkings of the show, how it came together, what it takes to put on all around the world, finding Hamilton references in everyday life, and much more. The Hamilcast has played host to every member of the original creative team, aka “The Cabinet”, including repeat visits from Hamilton creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda. The Hamilcast features interviews with cast members from every Hamilton tour, Broadway, and UK company–crew members, musicians, creatives, and the hard working people behind-the-scenes that keep the production alive. Plus: historians, super fans, celebrity Hamilton enthusiasts, and group cast recordings! When I started this podcast in January of 2016, I could not have imagined the incredible community that has grown around the show and the amazing experiences that have come my way. Thank you to everyone who has listened, appeared on the show, contributed, or reached out in any way. This podcast is for you and I absolutely love making it. If you have any great Ham stories or funny references that you’ve come across, let me know! Email TheHamilcast [at] gmail [dot] com, or contact me on social media @TheHamilcast. Shelf Lives

    Shelf Lives

    by

    Since Aug 10, 2020 07:00 UTC

    https://supporter.acast.com/shelf-lives

Shelf Lives is a series of short, original audio plays exploring the fictional lives of the different people we all knew and loved during lockdown, in the one social setting we grew used to for many, many months: the supermarket.

Each episode follows a different character in the same shop, on the same day, at exactly the same time, as they get to grips with both private crises and one very public pandemic. These are short, sharp ten minute insights into people’s lives – plays in podcast form.

During this incredibly difficult time for the theatre industry, On A Wimb are committed to finding ways of creating new theatrical content. They want to work with fellow creatives to produce work that not only responds to the COVID-19 pandemic, but supports fellow theatre professionals and finds a way to help the industry flourish in spite of the circumstances. On A Wimb are currently working on another piece of online content which follows this same principle, which they’ll be announcing shortly.

On A Wimb is a theatre company founded in 2019 and comprised of Beth Colley, Emma Raczkowski, Jack Stanley and Stanley Walton. They formed because they thought we’re digging the planet into a bigger hole and wanted to do something about it (and I mean that was pre-pandemic 2019. Imagine how we feel now). Our work is eco-conscious, exploring issues that affect the planet in sustainable productions that try to lessen the impact on it. In 2019, they were shortlisted for the Les Enfants Terribles Award for emerging theatre companies.
