PS You’re Wrong: A Pop Culture Podcast

    by

    Since Jul 21, 2018 18:11 UTC

This weekly podcast finds two friends who are constantly at odds coming together to talk all things pop culture. With a quirky sense of humor (and a complete lack of humility), Shelby and Matt put their fingers on the pulse of social media’s zeitgeist as they discuss, dissect, and dismantle current moments in movies, music, and more. These self-proclaimed tastemakers are eager to prove their point and serve their tea too. Because you may think you’re right but P.S. You’re Wrong.

    Whitewashed

    by

    Since Jul 19, 2020 16:00 UTC

Meaningful progress is never easy, especially when it has to come from within. After the murder of George Floyd, our small Dallas based production company knew we needed to do things differently. We spent years making things for ourselves only to further our own friends and careers. Now, we’re gearing up to be actively anti-racist in all the things we create, imbuing equity into our process, telling diverse stories that include more people, and taking the burden of access of our collaborators/audience. WHITEWASHED is our documentation from being a shitty company doing nothing about injustice, to being a storytelling organization living the change we want to see.In this podcast, you are going to hear our journey with hard, uncomfortable conversations in brave spaces for growth. You’re going to hear how we come to the decisions we make about what work gets released, by who, and why. You’ll hear us connect with fellow community members and artists making work for social change.

    Win Over Depression

    Win Over Depression

    by

    Since Jan 5, 2020 06:00 UTC

The goal of the non-profit WIN OVER DEPRESSION organization is to spread awareness about the Mental Health epidemic and provide insight, and understanding about the daily challenges individuals with mental health issues face. It can be hard to get out of bed in the morning or feel motivated to interact with others. Quite often it feels as though a dark cloud is hovering over you. During the most painful times you just feel ALONE. The clinically depressed individual struggles daily to survive.

The mind is the worst enemy they have and they are often trapped inside their thoughts. They make assumptions about their interactions, sometimes become paranoid and have difficulty deciding what is the truth. They feel alone in their pain because they are convinced they are a burden to their family and friends. They have a couple of friends in whom they may confide, but unless you have experienced the deep-rooted sadness and helplessness no one can really understand the day to day and often moment to moment struggle of mental health disorders.

For the most part, sufferers of mental health conditions conceal their mental health diagnosis because society can be cruel and accusatory. The negative stigmas that surround mental illnesses encourage silence and seeking professional help is perceived to be a weakness. “GIVING UP IS NEVER AN OPTION.” This podcast will provide the mental health sufferer or their family with insight, tools for survival and “real-life” stories that will teach techniques and ways to thrive despite your circumstances and life a productive life. websites:https://www.winoverdepression.org

Smart machines based upon the principles of artificial intelligence and machine learning are now prevalent in our everyday life. For example, artificially intelligent systems recognize our voices, sort our pictures, make purchasing suggestions, and can automatically fly planes and drive cars. In this podcast series, we examine such questions such as: How do these devices work? Where do they come from? And how can we make them even smarter and more human-like? These are the questions that will be addressed in this podcast series!

    Daily Gospel Exegesis

    Daily Gospel Exegesis

    by

    Since Aug 1, 2020 18:00 UTC

This is a short daily podcast, where we go through an exegesis of the gospel reading from the current day’s Mass. The Catholic Church teaches that in order to understand the Scriptures, we must start with the literal sense – in other words, how the original hearers of the text would have understood it. That is our aim in this podcast – to help understand what the gospel writers (and more importantly, Jesus) were intending to communicate in today’s reading, as well as providing links to the Catechism. Each episode is short and designed to be listened to before or after attending daily Mass.
