Like millions of you we were astounded and inspired by the incredible charity work completed by Captain Tom in the face of an unprecedented global pandemic. In the process he raised over £32 million for the NHS and reminded us all that no matter what happens, there’s always something to look forward to.

To commemorate the release of Captain Tom’s autobiography in large print and audio we’ve reached out to our friends across the publishing world and asked them to share with us an example of a good day. Welcome to “Just A Kid From Cleveland” podcast. For most of my adult life I’ve been know for Christian rapping. Rapping is something that I absolutely love, but it’s not all of who I am. I realized that God has placed multiple gifts inside of me, two of which are speaking and teaching. I believe that we should use our gifts and talents not just to benefit ourselves, but to serve and benefit others as well. I’ve notice that people are straying away from the faith, losing their identities, losing hope, and seeking out ways to achieve their dreams. I believe that with this podcast I can help with these things. I’m just a young kid from Cleveland, Ohio that has been through more than you can imagine as an only child. Through my life experiences and love for people I believe these episodes will change and impact lives.

His international reputation as a spoken word artist and performance poet has earned him the nickname The Counseling Poet. This is based on his background in mental health. Dr. Ingram has traveled extensively, lecturing and conducting workshops on developing cultural competency and empathy skills through the use of poetry. He has also been nominated for a Pushcart Prize for his poetry. His second poetry collection, When Cherry Blossoms Fall on Black Skin is forthcoming. He resides in Washington, DC.
