    You Are Not A Frog

    by

    Since Dec 17, 2019 08:00 UTC

The podcast for GPs, hospital doctors and other professionals in high-stakes, high-stress jobs who want to thrive rather than just survive. You studied for years, you’re really good at what you do but you’ve noticed that you’re starting to feel overwhelmed, overworked and under-resourced. You may be comparing yourself to a frog in boiling water – the heat has built up so slowly that you haven’t noticed the extra-long days becoming the norm. You may feel on the edge and trapped in the very job that you’ve spent years working towards. Here’s the problem, frogs only have two choices; stay and be boiled alive, or jump out of the pan. The good news is that you are not a frog. You have many more choices than you think you do. You don’t have to quit, and nor should stress and burnout be inevitable. It is possible to be master of your own destiny, to craft your work life and career so that you can thrive even in the most difficult of situations. There are simple changes you can make which will make a huge difference to your stress levels and help you enjoy life again. Your host is Dr Rachel Morris, GP turned Executive Coach and Specialist in Resilience at Work who knows what it’s like to feel like an exhausted frog. In the podcast, she’ll be talking to friends, colleagues and experts all who have an interesting take on resilience for clever people in high-stakes, high-stress jobs so that together you can take back control to beat stress and burnout, survive and thrive.

    Know Your Dose Podcast

    by

    Since Feb 3, 2020 07:02 UTC

“Know Your Dose” is a weekly thought-provoking podcast focused on how cannabis, psychedelics, and holistic practices are transforming the future of wellness. Led by Baked Bros™ co-founders Thomas Rimbach, Nadeem Al-Hasan, and co-host Derek Espinoza, “Know Your Dose,” covers how these alternative practices influence overall health, fitness, personal development, and much more. Listen in on their free-flowing conversations by selecting an episode below! Description: Is this the final episode of the KYD Podcast? The answer is yes, but hold on to your hats! The near future holds an exciting secret… Nadeem and Derek take some time this week to talk about creativity. Creativity is an ever-evolving process, and there are many pieces that make it up. Co-creation, vetting ideas and thought tunnels, getting into a flow, and getting your ideas together are all discussed. Once the creative process is broken down, the KYD hosts speak on refining chaos, not limiting our imagination, and how to stay creative by taking breaks. This may be the end of Know Your Dose, but stay tuned for the most exciting evolution yet with… The Gateway Theory. Meditations from Mindfulness-Based Organisational Education (MBOE)

Meditations from Mindfulness-Based Organisational Education (MBOE)

    by

    Since Mar 17, 2020 09:00 UTC

We build human organisations. We believe the future of organsations is human-centred, but the bottom line dictates that leaders can’t risk untried programmes with unclear benefits. These short, guided mindfulness meditations were first taught to NHS hospital staff as part of the Mindfulness-Based Organisational Education (MBOE), which is an evidence-based programme. It’s taught to organisations and communities to empower people to create a more human and sustainable world. These meditations offer a dual purpose: The ‘how’ and the ‘why’. They are a great place to start and our book, Social Mindfulness: A guided to mindfulness meditations from Mindfulness-Based Organisational Education, goes into greater depth. Social Mindfulness: A guided to mindfulness meditations from Mindfulness-Based Organisational Education is available from www.mindfulnessconnected.com/shop/social-mindfulness

The Shift (on life after 40) with Sam Baker

    by

    Since Aug 11, 2020 23:01 UTC

The Shift is a podcast that aims to tell the truth about being a woman post-40, created and hosted by writer and broadcaster, Sam Baker.

Did you ever wonder why you stop hearing so many women’s voices once they pass 40? That’s where The Shift comes in – a frank, funny, sometimes heartbreaking, always honest look at what it means to be a woman in midlife and beyond. Work, life, love, health, sex, money, identity, body image… What does it all mean when everything around you (and inside you…) is changing? Each week, award-winning author and journalist Sam Baker asks a different woman how she got here, where she’s going – and how it feels to be where she is right now. Expect intimate conversation, big laughs, occasional tears and an awful lot of ripping up the rule book and stamping on it… Past guests have included Nicola Sturgeon, Marian Keyes, Guilty Feminist Deborah Frances-White, Minnie Driver, Philippa Perry, Anita Rani, Tracey Thorn, Isabel Allende, Bobbi Brown, Barbara Blake-Hannah and many more, talking everything from confidence to career reinvention, mental health, menopause and so much more.
