    Dear Discreet Guide

    Dear Discreet Guide

    by

    Since Apr 30, 2020 12:00 UTC

Mostly books but also TV & movies, & music, & stuff people make or do, author & creator & fan interviews with host Jennifer Crittenden.

English writer, classics teacher, and former police officer, Mark Knowles, joins us to talk about Reacher, the Amazon series; Killing Floor, the book it’s based on; and its British author Lee Child. We analyze what’s the same or different between the show and the book, what we like about Reacher, and how he resembles a classic Homeric hero. We also talk about stuff that got changed in the show and whether or not we approve (like the thing with the dog and some woke additions), plus some challenges inherent to transferring a monosyllabic loner to the screen. Spoilers! A fun episode with a fun guest.

    Dancing in the shadows

    by

    Since Jun 16, 2019 23:34 UTC

Escaping the perils of depression and self-doubt through conversational hypnosis and open expression. I strive to learn comfort in the shadowed moments of life, and thrive in the light. Born into a cult-religion programmed into me as truth. While i have had shades of light, it has been mostly a dark journey for me. Recently, I have had to rediscover the light within and push through the cult-barrier of programming finally snipping the invisible tether of cult based mind-control. I take you with me in real time as I work through the incredibly difficult journey of what led me to now. I share it all.

A podcast about odd jobs, crazy jobs, jobs we’ve had, jobs we’ve quit, and jobs we’ve been fired from. Hear comedians Taylor Dowdy and Joey Z riff on anything humans have done to earn a living. Remember the Alamo? Who needs the Alamo when you have Taylors VHS hut. Joey reminisces about working at a game show for children. Taylor loves Cronenberg and Joey’s too high to remember who that is. Joey introduces Taylor to the job of The Shomer. Or as Taylor likes to call it, the human dream catcher. Craigzylist special: crime scene cleanup supervisor.

    Doing our HomeWork

    Doing our HomeWork

    by

    Since Jun 6, 2018 13:46 UTC

Doing our HomeWork is a podcast about the future of work. To explore what the working routines of tomorrow will look like, we‘re inviting designers, futurists, philosophers and thought-leaders to discuss questions about our ever-shifting environment. Is a sofa still a sofa when you are working on it? Do you really need your colleagues? Is freelance work truly free? How will the role of physical space change in a digital world? What does an inspiring workplace look like? Join our conversation. How important are our surroundings for us to thrive and be creative? Does it matter where we are when we are working? How will that change in the future? Listen to Lisa Enzenhofer from green4cities who thinks it is super important how connected we are to nature during our worktime because there is so much beauty to explore around us. Timothy Ahrensbach from Denmark wants us to create clarity not only around us, but in our minds, with our clients, our partners, our employers, around how and when to work and on what premises. And Samuel Douek founds his creative place within himself, in his intuition and from experience.
