News in Slow German is a podcast for those who already possess a basic vocabulary and some knowledge of German grammar. Your hosts are native German speaker from Germany. In our program we discuss the world news, grammar, and expressions, and much more in simplified Spanish at a slow pace so that you can understand almost every word and sentence. Learn real Spanish with us! In our course we emphasize all aspects of language learning from listening comprehension, rapid vocabulary expansion, exposure to grammar and common idiomatic expressions, to pronunciation practice and interactive grammar exercises.

Wir beginnen den ersten Teil unseres Programms mit dem Internationalen Tag der Pressefreiheit, der jedes Jahr am 3. Mai begangen wird. Als Nächstes sprechen wir über einen Bericht eines medizinischen Experten in Frankreich, aus dem hervorgeht, dass das Coronavirus bereits am 27. Dezember im Land war. Danach diskutieren wir über soziale Distanzierung und darüber, wie sicher die Zwei-Meter-Regel ist. Und schließlich werden wir über Belgien sprechen, wo die Einwohner aufgefordert wurden, mehr Pommes Frites zu essen, um den dortigen Kartoffelbauern zu helfen.

Wir werden darüber sprechen, dass inzwischen alle deutschen Bundesländer Gesetze verabschiedet haben, die das Tragen von Gesichtsmasken beim Benutzen der öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel oder beim Einkaufen vorschreiben. In den meisten Bundesländern trat das Gesetz bereits am 27. April in Kraft und jetzt schließlich auch in Bremen und Berlin. Unsere zweite Story beschäftigt sich damit, dass Deutschland Aktivitäten der israelfeindlichen Organisation „Hisbollah“ in Deutschland verboten hat und Razzien durchführt. Die USA und Israel haben diese Entscheidung gelobt.

Students made this movie for a Green House Poject they entered. The aim was to win a Green House for our Gardening project at school and grown seedlings. The students planned and made the movie without any teachers assistance. They used iMacs, Flip Cams, iPads, Garage Band…….. In fact they taught the teachers all about the process along the way.

Powerpoint Showdown is an improv comedy show where each episode is disguised as a conference covering a general topic, such as Advances in Transportation or Dental Hygiene. These conferences consist of four presentations, led by different speakers. At the end, the speaker who gave the best presentation “wins a $50,000 grant in the form of a scholarship to Some Nobodies University and/or a ‘rare novelty bit of nostalgia’.” The twist: none of the speakers have seen their presentations before it is their turn to speak.
