Physicians have been sold out by the system, and there’s no one teaching doctors the business of medicine. Physicians are uniquely set up to fail because, for one, they learn to do it all on their own. But as a small business-minded entrepreneur, Dr. Edwin Williams knows that there’s a smarter, more effective way to succeed from the moment grad school is over to the opportunities that follow, like opening profit centers, a surgery center, and a practice. In this podcast, physician entrepreneurs (and future physician entrepreneurs or other professionals) can learn to think like a small business person, develop an organic culture, understand the importance of planning, and acquire with purpose, ultimately turning the road before them into a path to not only success but also happiness. To learn more about Dr. Williams check out his website: https://www.dredwinwilliams.com/podcast

Ever since I could remember there was music in my life or rattling around in my head. As I was born in 1966 I was too young to really appreciate the great musical styles of the times, but I was brought up on the 70’s music of 10cc, Bowie, Roxy Music etc. so all was not lost. I have been passionate about early Garage/Psych since my teenage years but I discovered very quickly that the more I was to delve into the past musically the more pathways and other avenues of musical styles opened up to me leading into a fascinating world of Blues, R ’n’ B, Rock, Soul, Ska, Folk, Pop etc.
After many happy years of collecting vast quantities of music from the era 1960 to about 1978, I started to wonder if there was anyone else out there in the big wide world who shared the same passion as I did. This in turn led me to seek out possible venues playing the kind of music I adored. But despite living just outside of Birmingham there was nothing happening locally. I found myself travelling to London to get my ‘fix’. As this was a logistical nightmare I started to look into a possible cheaper radio ‘fix’… surely there must be something happening? Actually I found much to my disappointment, very little or many dead links of now defunct shows. Well I decided I then only had one choice, to put on the sort of radio show that I would love to tune into myself and hopefully so would others.
Well here we are with the finished product. The Good Man’s Radio Show.
I hope you find yourself awfully glad that you stopped by my little bubble of joy and I am able to spread at least a little of the joy I feel myself when I listen to my music. If I can spread the word of all these (sometimes) forgotten gems and start a whole new generation of people looking to explore the possibility that music doesn’t have to be dull and lazy, which I tend to feel an awful lot is now sadly, then so much the better. Thanks for tuning in folks, enjoy the trip. .LemmyX

“The Portion” is a podcast where Aaron Roller, a curious Orthodox Jew, sits down with his brother-in-law, Rabbi Jonathan Bienenfeld, to discuss the portion of the Torah that is read each week by Jews around the world. The conversation is informal and friendly, but not afraid to delve into the wealth of Jewish wisdom and interpretation. Guests may join to offer their takes on the portion as well.

Belfast-born Melbourne-based songwriter and producer Andy White has a new podcast series based around the writing and recording of ‘AT’, the album he released with Tim Finn earlier this year.
As in the first series, when he went track by track with latest solo album ‘This garden is only temporary’, Andy looks at a song a week to show how layers of lyrics and music work together, ideas appear, and surprises are welcomed.
In both series, Andy plays excerpts from the master tapes and discusses process, influences and inspirations. Each episode ends with a different version of the song from the one you’ll find on the released recording.
If the underlying theme of Series 1 was “How to make an album”, Series 2 is “How to co-write an album”. There are even more ways to write songs or record when two people are involved. And if you are old friends and bandmates, you don’t need to be in the same room together.
“If you want to express something but don’t know how to express it—tell the truth. This is powerful.”
