Piers Langland is a mild mannered paint salesman with one burning passion. He aspires to be a famous author. Each November he looks forward to entering The National Novel Writer Month competition. To be a winner in NaNoWriMo he must write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days, a tall order for any writer. Turns out, it is an especially tall order for our hero. Join Piers as he struggles to choose a topic for his novel before he can begin his epic task. Vampires or space opera, romance or pulp fiction, what should he choose? Unfortunately, the greatest object holding him back is Piers himself. Follow this hilarious tale as Piers blunders his way though one genre after another, leaving a trail of wackiness and comical disasters in his wake. Can Piers choose a topic? Can Piers finish his book? Can Piers get even one thing right without bungling it terribly? Read The Prisoner of NaNoWriMo and find out. This whimsical story is written by Craig Robertson, author of the podcast novels Anon Time and The Innerglow Effect, who knows first hand the pain and glory that is NaNoWriMo. Download the free audio version of The Prisoner of NaNoWriMo from iTunes or Podiobooks.com. Absolutely free ebook versions can be found on Smashwords.com. Who doesn’t deserve a good laugh, the harder the better right? Let Piers you feel his pain and show him you have his back. Download your copy of The Prisoner Of NaNoWriMo today!

    Talking Biotech Podcast

    Talking Biotech Podcast

    by

    Since Jul 11, 2015 18:13 UTC

Talking Biotech is a weekly podcast that uncovers the stories, ideas and research of people at the frontier of biology and engineering. Each episode explores how science and technology will transform agriculture, protect the environment, and feed 10 billion people by 2050. Interviews are led by Dr. Kevin Folta, a professor of molecular biology and genomics.

The foundation of many modern consumer products begins with petroleum. Fossil fuels contain the building blocks of higher-complexity polymers, and are used in the creation of everything from high performance plastics in medical devices to your computer screen. But using petroleum use is not sustainable and has impacts in climate and pollution. What if the same molecular polymer backbones could be produced using biological organisms? Dr. Scott Franklin from Checkerspot explains how microalgae are being used to manufacture the fundamental building blocks of high performance polymers in a system that creates zero waste. These chemical backbones are used to create high-performance polymers that are fashioned into sporting goods for consumers interested in sustainability.

Podcasts are quickly becoming a new way to share ideas and information, and we felt it was time to bring what we have to the table. Having taken an unconventional approach to life, we have experienced so many amazing moments, and we want to share these stories and our reflections on them with all of you. We are constantly researching topics that have helped us to open our minds and understand the world in a unique way. We plan on featuring interesting people letting us take a journey into their lives, delving into things like psychedelic adventures, relationships, spirituality, addiction and more. We want to create a community where you can go to take a break from the daily grind and at the same time experiencing new stories & ideas. We want to keep it interesting and tap into a range of different emotions. Some episodes will be non stop laughs, while others will take you deep. These stories will take you through experiences that will keep you intrigued, and at times on the edge of your seat. One topic the new season will touch a lot on is what we call war stories. These are stories from ex drug addicts who have been through some crazy things. I have heard some of the craziest stories I’ve ever experienced when I’ve got to swapping “War Stories” with someone. I want to share these with you as I believe there is a lot to learn from them & they are also extremely captivating. So join us as we take a journey through a side of society that a lot of people are embarassed to talk about.

“It’s Just Pot – What’s The Problem?” – Every Brain Matters Podcast

    by

    Since Sep 6, 2021 23:00 UTC

Hi, my name is Aubree Adams. Colorado’s marijuana harmed my family. I and other families who have had loved ones severely harmed or who died by the effects of marijuana developed the Every Brain Matters community. We educate about the health and environmental dangers of marijuana and the drug culture expansion by providing support for families and advocacy based on lived experiences and science.

The public is being deceived regarding industrialized marijuanaproducts and their effects, like cannabis use disorder, cannabis-induced psychosis, and cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome, which has led to a public health crisis. No matter how much the drug culture expands, we will “Keep On Keepin On” because we wholeheartedly know that Every Brain Matters.

Science and Skepticism are her main jam. The truth matters, no matter if we like it or not. It can be political and harsh at times, but will always be based on scientific skepticism. #skeptic #skepticism #beskeptical
